Creation or Chance?

There are many who believe that all that we see and touch is here by "CHANCE." They reject the ideaology of Creationism because they reject anything that pertains to "FAITH." But . . . does it not take more faith to believe in CHANCE rather than CREATION?

Many philosophical studies declare that the idea of a "watch" must declare that there is a "watchmaker." Nothing can come out of nothing. All things must originate from some "CAUSE."

We must decide about the question -- does Creation and God Exist? http://www.allaboutgod.com/does-god-exist.htm If we believe in Creation then the "Watchmaker" must be God.

THIS IS KNOWN AS "PASCAL'S WAGER"

Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) was one of history’s greatest mathematicians. He laid the foundations for hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, differential calculus, and the theory of probability. He is famous for the “PASCAL'S WAGER.”

His wager is:

"Either God exists, or he does not.
If he exists, then “there is an infinity of an infinitely happy life to gain.”
If he does not exist, then there nothing to lose.
If one wages that God exists and it turns out that God does not exist, one loses nothing.
If one wages that God does not exist and it turns out that God does exist, one loses all.
THEREFORE, it is better to wage that God exists than that he does not."

Albert Einstein stated. “Science can only be created by those who thoroughly imbued with the aspiration toward truth and understanding. This source of feeling, however, springs from the sphere of religion. I cannot conceive of a genuine scientist without that profound faith.”

Louis Pasteur said, “The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed of the work of the Creator."

Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1662) considered his theological writings more important than his scientific writings. He stated, “There is a Being who made all things, who holds all things in His power, and is therefore to be feared.”

Creation: Design or Chance?

Many believe that all that we see and all that we are is "ALL" by chance! They reject Creationism because that it has to be taken by "FAITH." But. . . does it not take more faith to believe that all things were created by "CHANCE."

Also, there is a belief that anything that can't be understood, logically, does not exist.

What do you think?

INDIVIDUAL BELIEF SYSTEMS:
MANY DECLARE THAT GOD DOES NOT EXIST:

If this is true... how can they prove it?

BELIEVING SOMETHING THAT IS NOT TRUE.

The ancient peoples believed the earth was FLAT.

It will never be FALSE that ancient man believed the earth was FLAT.

We know now that the earth is NOT FLAT.

But it was TRUE that early man BELIEVED the earth was FLAT.

Believing doesn't make it so.

Belief statements are not TRUTH STATEMENTS.

THIS IS A LIST OF WORLDVIEWS:

Atheism: There is no God in or beyond the world
Pantheism: God is identical with the world.
Panentheism: God is in all the world in the sense that God is to the world as the mind is to the body.
Deism: God is beyond the world, but not actively supporting. The world was once created, but now runs on its own.
Theism: God is both beyond and within the world, both Creator as active Sustainer of the world.

EACH OF THESE WORLDVIEWS GIVES AN ANSWER TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

1. Where did we come from?
2. Where are we going to?
3. What happens when we die?
4. What is the meaning of life?
5. What is the purpose of life?

Someone once said,
"Those who know God, do not need a proof.
Those who reject God, do not want a proof."

THEREFORE, IT IS UP TO YOU TO DECIDE WHICH VIEW YOU ACCEPT.
AGAIN.... JUST BECAUSE YOU ACCEPT OR DO NOT ACCEPT DOESN'T MAKE IT TRUE.

ABSOLUTISM

Absolutism is logical http://www.allaboutphilosophy.org/absolute-truth.htm and true. The logic about ABSOLUTISM and RELATIVISM is the only viable solution to the question of "RIGHT" and WRONG."

Examples of ABSOLUTES:

• We all need AIR to breathe
• We all need FOOD and WATER
• This is true for all people everywhere at all times.
• Gravity works the same everywhere here on the planet.
• One cannot be DRY and WET at the same time.
• Something cannot be true and not true at the same time…
one must be false or both, but both cannot be true.
• One cannot live in the past and the future at the same time.
• One cannot go forward and backward at the same time.
• TIME goes forward – it cannot go backward.
• No one is getting younger instead of older.
• You cannot be asleep and awake at the same time.

Relativism

Just a word about RELATIVISM. If relativism is true -- then there is no RIGHT or WRONG. If relativism is true -- then do what you want and no one can correct you. If relativism is true -- then why be good? This is just a starter and I will discuss this further into the blog.

The popular view today is that MORALITY is “RELATIVE” to the individual or their culture.

Psychology or Sociology declares simply that we should accept each other’s feelings or value systems.

DO REAL MORAL ABSOLUTES (RIGHT/WRONG) EXIST?

CONSIDER THE EXAMPLES OF QUARRELING:

1. “How’d you like it if someone did that to you?”
2. “You can’t do that, you promised!”
3. “Leave him alone, he’s not doing any harm.”

When someone says something like that, they’re not just disagreeing with the behavior that prompted the remark.
They’re appealing to some kind of standard of conduct—a standard that they expect the other person to know about and recognize as authoritative or binding.

THE REASONS FOR THE MORAL VALUE OF ACTIONS ARE BASED UPON A CODE OF LAWS OR PRINCIPLES THAT ARE A RECOGNIZED STANDARD FOR MORAL CONDUCT.

RELATIVISM depends on feelings to determine what one ought to do.
ABSOLUTISM relies on overarching moral principles that all people recognize, such as:
natural law, conscience, and to many - the Golden Rule.

It is time to go watch TV now and watch a "SITCOM." By the way, situation comedy is what RELATIVISM is all about. What do you think?
